Job Overview

We are seeking a visionary Head of IT Digital Factory to lead and expand Qatar Airways’ IT software engineering capabilities. This senior leadership position focuses on building a robust Digital Factory by partnering with a third-party system integrator, driving innovation and embracing agile methodologies to foster a dynamic digital culture.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for program management of the Digital Factory’s setup and continuous improvement. Initially starting with a few agile teams, the role involves scaling operations to as many as 20 to 30 teams, managing over 200 contractors efficiently. You will ensure Qatar Airways maximizes benefits related to development speed and adaptability to change.

Developing and implementing a strategic IT roadmap is critical, particularly for Qatar Airways’ digital assets such as QR.com and mobile applications, ensuring these platforms are cloud-based and seamlessly maintained within the Digital Factory framework. High standards for system stability, availability, and security must be upheld to protect valuable digital resources.

The position also involves strategic support for business management in preparing business cases and cost estimates while highlighting technological risks. Ensuring robust governance through steering committees and working groups will help maintain smooth and risk-aware project delivery. Additionally, managing contracts with IT service providers to meet service level agreements and optimize licensing usage will be under your purview.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce, or Sciences.
• Relevant industry certifications such as ITIL and project management are highly desirable.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in a similar leadership role, preferably within customer-centric, fast-paced sectors like financial services, retail, or FMCG.
