Job Overview

ISS International SpA is seeking a skilled Turnaround Static Engineer specialized in Ammonia facilities to support a major fertilizer project located in Mesaieed, Qatar. This role focuses on managing the turnaround and shutdown processes within the fertilizer and ammonia production industry, requiring a blend of technical expertise and practical experience with static mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of static equipment throughout turnaround activities. Responsibilities include overseeing inspection, maintenance, and repair of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, tanks, and associated piping systems. Collaboration with contractors, inspection teams, maintenance staff, and operations personnel is essential to coordinate effective turnaround execution and compliance with HSE standards.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in turnaround or shutdown projects within petrochemical, fertilizer, or ammonia industries.
• Hands-on knowledge of static mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, tanks, and piping systems.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately.
• Strong understanding of inspection techniques, maintenance procedures, repair methods, and turnaround practices.
• Rigorous adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations including Permit-to-Work processes.
• Experience working collaboratively with diverse teams including contractors and operation units.
• Specific background in fertilizer or ammonia plant operations is highly advantageous.
