Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead QC Engineer specializing in Welding to join a dynamic project team in Qatar. This role demands a strong professional with extensive knowledge in quality control and assurance within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Fertilizer sectors. The ideal candidate will carry significant expertise in managing team operations during shutdowns and turnaround projects, specifically with piping, structural steel, tanks, welding, and field installation.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead QC Engineer will oversee quality control processes ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards. Responsibilities include:

• Leading the QC team to maintain high standards of welding and fabrication quality.
• Implementing and monitoring inspection and testing activities for piping, steel structures, and tanks.
• Coordinating with project management and field teams during shutdowns and turnaround activities.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Preparing quality documentation and reports for audits and client review.

Required Skills and Experience

• 12 to 15 years of proven experience in quality control within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Fertilizer projects.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years of direct experience in the GCC region is mandatory.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and quality assurance procedures.
• Expertise in welding inspection, piping, tank construction, and structural steel fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of standards and codes related to welding and fabrication in industrial settings.

Mandatory Certifications

• CSWIP 3.2.2 or EWE or IWE certification related to welding inspection.
• IRCA ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualification.
