Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Permit Technician to join our team in Mesaieed, Qatar. This role is vital for managing and processing mechanical permits within Oil & Gas plants, ensuring compliance with safety standards and efficient workflow during Brownfield engineering and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

The Mechanical Permit Technician will be responsible for handling permit-to-work (PTW) documentation, overseeing mechanical permits, and managing isolation procedures. The role involves performing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and risk assessments to support safe operations. The technician will work closely with engineering and construction teams to facilitate smooth project execution with strict adherence to safety protocols.

Required Skills and Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
• At least 10 years of experience in permit processing specifically within Oil & Gas plants
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Brownfield engineering and construction projects
• Strong expertise in PTW systems, mechanical permits, isolation procedures, JHA, and risk assessment
• Proficiency with MS Office applications
• Experience with electronic Permit to Work (e-PTW) systems is an advantage
• Familiarity with local regulations and standards in Qatar is preferred

Work Environment

This position is based in Mesaieed, a key hub for Oil & Gas operations in Qatar. The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams on-site and coordinating permit activities within potentially high-risk industrial settings.
