Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Estimation Engineer to join a leading engineering team in Qatar on a permanent basis. This role demands expertise in EPC project estimation, tendering, and cost control, particularly within the Oil & Gas or Industrial sectors. If you have a solid background interpreting engineering drawings, performing quantity take-offs, and preparing detailed cost estimates, this opportunity is ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities

The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for accurately reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Quantities (BOQs) to prepare reliable cost estimates. You will perform quantity take-offs, analyze labor productivity rates, and calculate equipment costs. Additionally, the role requires coordination with procurement and subcontracting teams to align project budgets and tender submissions effectively.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 8–9 years’ experience in estimation, tendering, and cost control within Oil & Gas, EPC, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of EPC project estimation and tender processes.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
• Skilled in quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimation.
• Understanding of labor productivity norms and equipment costing.
• Familiarity with procurement and subcontracting activities.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and estimation software.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Primavera is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• TEKLA certification is mandatory.
• Certifications such as PMP, AACE, or relevant cost engineering credentials are advantageous.
• Experience with fabrication, piping, structural steel, and maintenance projects will be considered a strong asset.
• Previous work with major Oil & Gas clients in Qatar like Qatar Energy, QAFCO, Q-Chem, ORYX GTL, and Ras Laffan projects is preferred.
