Trags Engineering, a prominent company in Qatar’s oil and gas sector, is inviting applications for the role of AutoCAD Operator specializing in piping and structural drafting. Key Responsibilities

The AutoCAD Operator will play a critical role in supporting engineering teams by creating, revising, and maintaining detailed technical drawings. Responsibilities include preparing piping and structural drawings such as general arrangements, isometric drawings, and fabrication details. The role also involves updating P&IDs and as-built documentation, assisting engineers with mechanical completion packages, and ensuring accurate maintenance of drawing registers and revision records. Additionally, the operator must ensure all outputs comply with project standards and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations. The position also requires preparing ad-hoc sketches and field modifications as needed to support ongoing construction activities.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate should hold a Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting, combined with a minimum of four years of relevant AutoCAD experience within the oil and gas industry. Expertise in producing precise piping and structural drawings is essential. Proficiency with AutoCAD software and MS Office applications is required, with knowledge of SAP systems considered an advantage. Familiarity with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and mechanical documentation standards is important for ensuring compliance with quality requirements. A solid understanding of HSE principles and safe work practices is mandatory to uphold the company’s safety culture.
