We are looking for a skilled Electrical Rides Maintenance Technician to join a leading amusement park team in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will focus on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems on various amusement rides, ensuring safety, performance, and guest satisfaction. This role demands hands-on experience with electrical control systems, preventive maintenance, and compliance with industry safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
The primary duties include performing routine maintenance and inspections on ride electrical components to prevent downtime and hazards. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues with programmable logic controllers (PLC), variable frequency drives (VFD), linear synchronous motors (LSM), and rotary equipment. Additionally, you will interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics to guide repairs and upgrades, ensuring all work aligns with safety regulations and quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience in electrical maintenance, with at least 2 years specifically in theme park ride maintenance.
- Diploma or trade certification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Certified in PLC programming and control systems operation.
- Strong communication skills in English and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with working conditions involving heat, dust, and exposure to chemicals typical in outdoor amusement park settings.
- Knowledge of ISO 17842 standards related to amusement ride safety is essential.
Work Environment
This position requires working onsite at the amusement park located in Doha, Qatar. The technician will encounter outdoor conditions including bright heat, airborne dust, and occasional chemical exposure.
