Job Overview
Nair Systems is seeking a seasoned Senior Business Analyst specializing in Cards and Payments to join their Qatar operations. This role plays a crucial part in bridging business needs with technical teams to design innovative, compliant, and efficient payment solutions, particularly within the payment gateway domain.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end analysis and documentation of business requirements related to card issuance, merchant acquiring, POS and e-commerce transactions, as well as settlement processes. Acting as a subject matter expert, they will manage payment platforms such as Base24, Prime, MPGS, CYBS, and other card switches or payment gateways.
Responsibilities also include overseeing reconciliation, settlement workflows, and managing dispute lifecycles and chargebacks across major schemes like Visa, Mastercard, and NAPS. The role requires close collaboration with internal IT teams, third-party vendors, and business stakeholders to develop scalable solutions that align with overall business strategies.
Tasks encompass translating complex business challenges into detailed user stories, business requirement documents, functional specification documents, and process flowcharts. Ensuring alignment with regulatory standards such as QCB, PCI-DSS, and global card schemes is paramount. The analyst will prepare and execute system integration testing (SIT), coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), and support go-live readiness.
Additionally, the role involves analyzing transaction data to enhance approval rates, reduce fraud risks, and improve customer experience. The analyst will provide ongoing support post-implementation, address PLV issues to minimize payment disruptions, and contribute to continuous payment feature improvements based on user feedback.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in the lifecycle of debit, credit, and prepaid cards, merchant acquiring, and 3D Secure authentication flows.
- Hands-on knowledge of payment platforms including Base24, Prime 4, MPGS, payment gateway APIs, and settlement engines.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for data validation, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams using tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Exceptional documentation capabilities and strong stakeholder communication skills.
- Understanding of ISO 8583 messaging standards and compliance with card scheme mandates.
- Familiarity with dispute resolution systems such as Visa Resolve Online and Mastercard DDRS.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should be able to join within two weeks, with a maximum joining timeline of one month. The position demands hands-on involvement in both business analysis and technical coordination to ensure successful delivery and support of payment systems.
