Job Overview

Nair Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Network Administrator to join their team in Qatar. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in network administration within the banking sector and demonstrate expertise in network security technologies and protocols.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves the configuration, management, and maintenance of network devices and security systems. The successful candidate will oversee firewall management, network access control (NAC), and VPN technologies to ensure secure and reliable connectivity. They will also be responsible for monitoring network performance, identifying threats, and implementing mitigation strategies. Additionally, the position requires leading and mentoring junior team members, collaborating with cross-functional departments, and communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Between 5 to 10 years of professional experience, preferably in a banking network and security environment.
• Hands-on experience with NAC and firewall technologies, specifically Avanti Pulse Secure or Aruba Clear Pass.
• Technical certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) are required.
• Additional certifications like CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ offer valuable foundational knowledge.
• Security certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are highly desirable.
• Deep understanding of networking protocols, architectures, and best security practices.
• Proficiency in intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), network monitoring tools, and threat detection methods.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and efficient troubleshooting of complex network and security issues.
• Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
• Leadership qualities to mentor staff and drive projects forward.

Industry Knowledge and Ethics

A thorough knowledge of current trends in network security and an understanding of ethical hacking principles are essential. The candidate must maintain a strong commitment to cybersecurity ethics, considering legal implications and industry standards.
