Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cost Controller to join our expanding Food & Beverage team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing food, beverage, and operational expenses across multiple restaurant outlets. Your expertise will support cost control efforts, ensuring accurate inventory tracking and contributing to profitable business operations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Cost Controller, you will oversee the financial aspects related to food and beverage costs. Your duties include:

• Monitoring and controlling costs for food, beverages, and other operational expenses across restaurant locations.
• Preparing detailed daily, weekly, and monthly reports on food cost, beverage cost, and inventory status.
• Conducting regular stock audits and investigating discrepancies in inventory records.
• Ensuring precise costing of recipes and menus to maintain profitability.
• Reconciling purchases, inventory figures, and sales data to verify cost accuracy.
• Tracking wastage, spoilage, and stock movement, and providing recommendations for corrective measures.
• Reviewing supplier pricing to support cost-saving initiatives.
• Collaborating closely with Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Kitchen teams to uphold cost efficiency.
• Maintaining compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal controls.
• Generating management reports and offering insights to enhance overall profitability.

Requirements

To succeed in this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline.
• Between 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Cost Controller within the Food & Beverage industry.
• Experience working in restaurants, cafés, cloud kitchens, quick service restaurants (QSR), or hospitality sectors is essential.
• Strong expertise in food costing, inventory management, recipe costing, and cost analysis methodologies.
• Proficiency in stock reconciliation, variance analysis, and preparing financial reports.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIF, and IF formulas.
• Familiarity with ERP and POS systems used for cost tracking and inventory management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities combined with strong communication skills.
• Detail-oriented approach with the capacity to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
