Job Overview

TPL Corp, a leading investment holding company within the TPL Group, is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join their dynamic IT team. The position focuses on managing and maintaining MSSQL Server databases, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and optimal performance across multiple business sectors including insurance, real estate, transport, and technology.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Database Administrator will oversee the installation, configuration, and patching of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) specifically MSSQL Server. This role involves troubleshooting issues, analyzing performance, conducting health checks on both databases and applications, and managing backup and restore operations. Handling internal service requests and complaints through a ticketing and change management system is also essential. Routine maintenance activities will be performed weekly, monthly, and quarterly to ensure database stability and efficiency. Collaboration with Systems and Storage teams is necessary to align database needs with infrastructure capabilities.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong expertise in MSSQL Server administration, including high availability and disaster recovery setups
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and enhance database performance
• Experience working with backup and restore processes to safeguard data integrity
• Familiarity with internal ticketing and change management systems
• Proven ability to coordinate effectively with system and storage teams
• Hands-on experience with both Linux and Windows operating environments
• Vendor certifications such as Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) or equivalent are highly desirable

Educational Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Candidates should have between 3 to 5 years of practical experience in database administration with a keen interest in expanding their knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
