Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled IT Infrastructure Manager based in Karachi to lead and manage our IT systems and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience working with systems and network devices in both Windows and Linux environments. This role demands expertise in managing data centers and network architecture, including branch connectivity and security.
Key Responsibilities
The IT Infrastructure Manager will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include managing data centers, undertaking network revamps, and designing new network layouts across multiple branches. The role also covers administration of firewalls, switches, routers, WiFi, Radius servers, VPNs, and LAN/WAN equipment.
Additional duties encompass managing Microsoft Active Directory, email servers (both open source and in-house), ticketing systems, backup solutions, SAN/NAS storage, antivirus software, file and print servers, virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V, DNS management, web hosting, replication services, operating system updates, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Identifying and mitigating risks in IT operations, developing standard operating procedures, enforcing IT policies, and driving proactive initiatives to enhance IT services are also critical parts of this role. The role further involves installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers, storage systems, networking hardware, monitoring tools, and related peripherals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of four years of proven experience managing networked systems and infrastructure in mixed Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong knowledge of data center management and network design, including branch office connectivity.
- Proficient with firewalls, switches, routers, WiFi, VPN, Radius servers, and LAN/WAN equipment management.
- Experienced with MS Active Directory, email systems, ticketing tools, SAN/NAS, virtualization, backups, antivirus, DNS, and web hosting.
- Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity procedures, risk mitigation, and IT policy enforcement.
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining server and storage hardware as well as network monitoring equipment.
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Information Security Management System (ISO 27001), Linux administration, and Project Management.
