Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead the engineering and technical delivery of luxury hotel construction projects in Medina. This role demands expertise in managing architectural, structural, MEP, interior design, and smart building systems tailored to Saudi Arabia’s challenging high-temperature and dusty climate. The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with local regulations and codes while overseeing projects from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities
The Technical Manager will be responsible for coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution. Key duties include managing technical aspects across architecture, structural, MEP, interior, and smart systems, addressing complex engineering challenges unique to luxury hospitality developments. The role involves driving the full lifecycle of hotel construction projects while maintaining compliance with local and international standards.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Strong proficiency in technical aspects of architecture, structural engineering, MEP systems, interior design, and smart building solutions.
- Proven experience implementing solutions for issues such as high-temperature concrete curing, MEP system protection against sand, and curtain wall designs resistant to wind and UV radiation.
- In-depth understanding of relevant codes and standards, including SASO, NFPA (Saudi Arabia), and LEED certification tailored to Middle Eastern environments.
- Experience managing complex, full-cycle luxury hotel projects, particularly those involving super-tall buildings, advanced MEP systems, and premium interior finishes.
- Track record in mitigating risks related to structural and MEP systems and solving interdisciplinary conflicts during construction phases.
- Familiarity with unique construction challenges like Ramadan work schedules and preservation constraints near heritage sites.
- Active registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) and comprehensive knowledge of Saudi construction permits, inspections, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should bring 15 or more years of hands-on experience in luxury hospitality construction projects, ideally within the Saudi Arabian market (Riyadh or Jeddah). Fluency in English is required, while proficiency in Arabic will be considered an advantage. A strong portfolio demonstrating previous successful delivery of 5-star hotel properties is essential.
