Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Control Engineer to join our team in Kuwait. This role involves managing budgets, monitoring project expenditures, and ensuring accurate cost forecasting across construction and engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quantity surveying and cost control within the construction, MEP, or industrial EPC sectors.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Cost Control Engineer will be responsible for setting up budgets and cost codes, closely tracking committed costs alongside actual expenditures, and forecasting final project costs. You will measure project progress, prepare payment applications, and evaluate subcontractor valuations. Close collaboration with Project Managers and the Supply Chain team is essential to manage variations, remeasurement, and maintain precise commercial records. Reporting on cost variances, supporting cash-flow forecasting, and preparing final account reconciliations will also be integral parts of the role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate should hold a degree in quantity surveying, engineering, or a related construction discipline. Expertise in post-contract measurement, valuations, cost forecasting, variation control, and contract or BOQ interpretation is essential. Advanced proficiency in Excel, experience with ERP cost reporting, and accurate financial reconciliation skills are required. Strong written and verbal English communication, particularly in commercial correspondence, is needed.

Experience

Candidates must have a minimum of six years’ experience in post-contract quantity surveying or cost control, preferably within construction, MEP, or industrial EPC environments. Proven experience handling payment applications, preparing cost forecasts, managing variations, and finalizing accounts is necessary for this position.
