Job Overview

We are currently looking for a skilled Chemical Engineer to join a leading company in Kuwait. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing chemical processes and equipment specifically for oil and gas as well as various industrial process plants. This role emphasizes enhancing operational efficiency, upholding safety standards, reducing risks, and maintaining high-quality production. The engineer will collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, and project teams on new setups, facility upgrades, and troubleshooting tasks.

Key Responsibilities

The Chemical Engineer will be tasked with the following duties:

• Designing and evaluating chemical processes for oil and gas and industrial plants to improve performance and reliability.
• Preparing detailed mass and energy balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Selecting and assessing process equipment such as heat exchangers, pumps, reactors, separators, compressors, and distillation systems to ensure optimal functionality.
• Conducting hazard and operability studies (HAZOP/HAZID) and comprehensive risk assessments to maintain safety compliance.
• Ensuring all processes and equipment adhere to relevant safety standards and industry regulations.
• Analyzing plant performance to recommend and implement enhancements effectively.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical problems related to processes and equipment.
• Providing engineering support throughout project phases from design through commissioning and startup.
• Documenting technical reports and maintaining accurate engineering records.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience working within oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial process plant environments.
• Deep understanding of chemical process design principles and system optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with safety regulations such as OSHA, API, NFPA, and ISO standards.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and process diagrams.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex process issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Holding a valid Kuwait driving license is preferred, and having a personal vehicle is advantageous.
• A transferable Visa 18 (Ahli) is mandatory for consideration.
