Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant to lead and manage daily accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with applicable standards. This role involves preparing detailed financial reports that support strategic decision-making and overseeing a team of junior accountants to maintain high-quality financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries promptly and accurately. The role includes compiling monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements such as the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements. Maintaining reconciliations for bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable forms a crucial part of the position.

Supervising junior accountants, reviewing their work for precision, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies are key tasks. The accountant will assist with budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing variances, while monitoring expenses and revenues to offer recommendations for cost control.

Coordination with internal and external auditors during audits, maintaining fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules, managing tax filings, and ensuring timely submission of tax returns will also be expected. Additional financial analyses and report generation will be required to support management’s needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience is essential, preferably in a similar capacity. A strong grasp of accounting principles and standards such as GAAP and IFRS is important.

Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems is required, with experience in platforms like Odoo or similar ERP solutions preferred. Successful applicants will demonstrate excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and keen attention to detail, coupled with solid organizational skills. Strong communication and leadership qualities are also critical in managing and guiding junior team members.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in the company’s office in Kuwait. The role involves working within a typical office setting, with occasional overtime during month-end and year-end closing periods to ensure timely financial reporting.
