Al Salam Community School is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. This role focuses on handling the Accounts Receivable cycle efficiently to support the smooth financial operations of our inclusive, family-run school community with a 40-year heritage. The successful candidate will play a pivotal behind-the-scenes role in maintaining accuracy and consistency in financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
The Junior Accountant will be responsible for managing the entire Accounts Receivable function, including billing, collections, reconciliation, and reporting. Precise invoicing related to tuition and other school fees is essential, along with diligent follow-up on payments to support the institution’s cash flow. The role also involves reconciling data across multiple systems, resolving discrepancies, and assisting with financial reporting, audits, and continuous process improvements. Collaboration with Admissions, IT, and Credit Control teams is a key component of this position.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or general accounting, preferably within the UAE education sector
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and reliability, especially under pressure
- Effective communication abilities for interacting with parents and other stakeholders
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
