Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Quality Control (QC) Engineer to join our team in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will oversee the quality assurance activities related to structural steel fabrication and erection, ensuring all work complies with project specifications and industry standards. This role demands a proactive approach to quality management, excellent technical knowledge, and strong communication skills to coordinate with clients and inspection agencies.

Key Responsibilities

The QC Engineer will be responsible for inspecting steel fabrication and erection processes to verify adherence to approved drawings and specifications. This includes reviewing shop drawings, project quality plans, and method statements. The role involves conducting thorough inspections of incoming materials, confirming material test certificates, and maintaining traceability.

Monitoring welding activities, dimensional checks, and visual tests is essential, along with coordinating non-destructive testing methods such as ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, and radiographic testing. Ensuring welders are qualified and activities align with welding procedure specifications is a critical part of the job.

Additional duties include supervising surface preparation and coating work, generating inspection reports, managing non-conformance reports, and preparing quality documentation. The QC Engineer will also liaise closely with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors and support the development and implementation of the company’s Quality Management System.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Welding, or a related engineering discipline.
• Between 5 to 10 years of hands-on QC experience in structural steel fabrication and erection.
• Strong familiarity with welding inspections, NDT techniques, painting/coating processes, and dimensional verification.
• Experience working with welding procedure specifications (WPS), welding procedure qualifications (PQR), welder performance qualifications (WPQ), and other quality control documents such as ITP, NCR, MIR, and IR.
• Ability to interpret engineering and fabrication drawings accurately.
• Effective communication and coordination skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and external inspectors.
• Previous experience with projects involving Saudi Aramco, SABIC, or NEOM is highly desirable.
• Holder of a transferable Iqama and availability for a physical interview in Khobar.
