Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled MEP Estimator and Technical Procurement Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, particularly with Aramco contracts. This role requires a Mechanical Engineering background and offers a negotiable salary. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading tender processes, evaluating bids, and managing procurement activities to ensure project success within the MEP sector.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves managing end-to-end tendering and procurement processes. You will run tenders, analyze bids based on both technical and commercial factors, and provide clear recommendations. Responsibilities also include preparing and submitting thorough bid documentation within deadlines, coordinating inputs across sales, marketing, finance, and legal teams, and ensuring all bids are compliant and approved.
Additionally, you will gather and assess data related to materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors to support accurate cost estimates. The position calls for strong negotiation skills to finalize contracts, ensuring all project standards and quality requirements are fully met. Maintaining organized contract records for audits and future reference is essential.
Building and nurturing supplier relationships is key, along with collaborating effectively with internal teams such as planning, estimation, material control, and stores. You will also conduct market research to source the best products and suppliers based on value, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
Developing innovative procurement strategies aimed at cost savings and supplier performance improvement is part of the job. Forecasting price trends and their impact on procurement planning are also important. You will prepare budgets, detailed cost analyses, and spending reports to support smart financial decisions.
On the operational side, the role includes verifying incoming materials against delivery notes, monitoring off-loading activities, and coordinating with material controllers to ensure accuracy. Regular stock inspections and reconciliation between physical inventory and ERP records are required, along with resolving any discrepancies with department managers.
Attending supplier meetings, trade shows, and industry conferences to stay updated on market trends is encouraged. Accurate documentation and record-keeping of all procurement activities round out the responsibilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in MEP estimation and procurement, specifically involving Aramco contracts
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier management
- Proficiency in cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work across multiple departments
- Experience using digital tools and software to enhance project management and estimation accuracy
- Ability to maintain detailed records and conduct thorough audits
