Description

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Quality Control Inspector to oversee the quality assurance and inspection of Cathodic Protection (CP) and Overhead Power Line (OHPL) projects in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. This role involves ensuring strict compliance with project specifications, Saudi Aramco standards, and safety protocols throughout the construction, testing, and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

The inspector will be responsible for thoroughly reviewing and implementing project specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and approved drawings related to CP and OHPL works. The role includes inspecting the installation of CP systems such as anode beds, rectifiers, test stations, cabling, and bonding components. Verification of overhead power line erection and stringing works—covering poles, cross-arms, insulators, and conductors—is also a critical task.

Additionally, the role requires monitoring the testing and commissioning processes of CP systems, including energization, potential measurements, and continuity checks. Witnessing electrical tests for overhead power lines like megger, high-potential (Hi-Pot), continuity tests, and sag and tension measurements will be part of the daily activities. Inspecting materials to ensure compliance with relevant standards and overseeing calibration and proper use of electrical test instruments are key quality control duties.

The inspector will prepare detailed inspection reports, checklists, and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for any deviations, while coordinating with construction teams, client representatives, and third-party inspectors to obtain necessary approvals. Adherence to Aramco standards such as SAES, SATIP, and associated safety requirements on site is mandatory.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience on Saudi Aramco projects specific to CP and OHPL works.
  • Possession of a valid or previously approved Aramco SAP/ID as an Electrical QC Inspector.
  • Successful completion of the Aramco Computer Based Test (CBT) for Electrical QC Inspector category.
  • 7 to 10 years of overall experience in electrical works inspection.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with Cathodic Protection and Overhead Power Line projects.
  • Strong familiarity with quality assurance processes, inspection procedures, and commissioning of CP and OHPL systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aramco standards including SAES, SATIP, SAIC, and SAMSS.
  • Proficiency in electrical inspection techniques, documentation, and technical reporting.
  • Experience in testing CP systems (rectifier, anode beds, continuity, potential surveys) and OHPL electrical tests (megger, Hi-Pot, sag/tension, continuity checks).
  • Good communication skills in English are essential; Arabic language skills are considered an advantage.
