Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Engineer to drive growth in the industrial shutdown and maintenance sector. Based in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, covering areas such as Jubail, Dammam, and Yanbu, this role involves identifying new business opportunities within industrial plants, including refineries, petrochemical facilities, power plants, and mining operations.
The ideal candidate will focus on securing contracts related to shutdown and maintenance services such as chemical cleaning and decontamination, lube oil flushing, flange facing, bolt torquing and tensioning, as well as heat exchanger retubing. This role is instrumental in expanding the company’s footprint within the Saudi industrial market and involves frequent travel to client sites.
Key Responsibilities
As a Business Development Engineer, you will:
- Identify upcoming maintenance and shutdown projects by regularly visiting industrial plants and EPC contractors.
- Generate and manage requests for quotations (RFQs) and develop bid opportunities.
- Forge and nurture strong client relationships with companies such as Saudi Aramco, SABIC, Ma’aden, SEC, and major EPC contractors.
- Review and coordinate tender and proposal submissions, working closely with technical teams to ensure accurate costing and scope clarity.
- Participate in technical meetings to align on project requirements and client expectations.
- Maintain active client engagement by meeting with maintenance managers, shutdown planners, mechanical supervisors, and procurement managers during plant visits and shutdown planning sessions.
- Collect and analyze market intelligence including competitor pricing and upcoming project trends to keep the company strategically positioned.
- Manage vendor registration and prequalification processes, ensuring all compliance and certification requirements are met and up to date.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Success in this role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong professional relationships. A thorough understanding of the industrial maintenance sector and shutdown procedures is essential. Candidates should be adept at reading and interpreting ITB/RFQ documents and comfortable coordinating across multiple teams to prepare competitive bids.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a busy schedule involving travel and client visits are important. Familiarity with CRM systems to track business opportunities and maintain customer data is also expected.
