Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Subcontracting and Procurement Officer to support major construction and industrial projects in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have between 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in subcontracting, procurement, or contract administration, particularly within sectors such as construction, infrastructure, oil and gas, or industrial developments.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves managing all aspects of subcontractor engagement, including contract negotiation, procurement processes, and vendor management. You will coordinate with various departments such as legal, finance, engineering, and project management to ensure smooth contract administration and compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations and project standards. Additionally, monitoring claims, managing variations, and overseeing commercial evaluation are crucial for successful project execution.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of Saudi Arabian procurement laws, government tenders, and local content requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of contract frameworks such as FIDIC, including drafting and negotiating subcontract agreements.
- Strong familiarity with construction techniques, material specifications, site operations, and safety standards.
- Experience in preparing and managing documentation such as letters of intent, amendments, change orders, and maintaining detailed records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis, and solid computer skills.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP modules like MM for materials management and PS/PM for project systems; experience with SAP Ariba is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with Arabic language proficiency considered a major asset.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with exposure to project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and a strong commercial mindset with analytical abilities will be highly considered. Experience working under fast-paced environments and handling multiple tasks efficiently is essential.
