Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Welding Quality Control (QC) Inspector specializing in piping to join a long-term project based in Fadhili, Saudi Arabia. This role requires close attention to detail and a solid understanding of welding standards and inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications. The position is open exclusively to Indian nationals.

Key Responsibilities

The Welding QC Inspector will be responsible for verifying materials, overseeing welding processes, and ensuring all welding activities meet stringent quality standards. Key duties include:

• Material Verification: Inspect incoming pipes, fittings, flanges, and consumables against Mill Test Certificates (MTCs), heat numbers, and Positive Material Identification (PMI) criteria.
• Fit-Up and Alignment Inspection: Confirm proper joint preparation by checking root gaps, bevel angles, misalignment, and cleanliness before welding commences.
• Welder Qualification and Compliance: Ensure welders are certified for their positions and welding processes, and verify welding parameters such as current, voltage, travel speed, and temperature conform to approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• In-Process and Visual Inspection: Monitor multi-pass welding sequences and interpass cleaning, while inspecting finished welds for surface defects like cracks, porosity, undercut, or incorrect weld contours using standard inspection tools.
• Heat Treatment and NDT Oversight: Coordinate and witness Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques such as radiography and ultrasonic testing; review welding and NDT reports, and monitor Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) charts.
• Non-Conformance Management: Identify and report non-conforming work via Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), supervise repair activities, and maintain comprehensive weld maps, logs, and turnover documentation.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of welding codes, standards, and inspection methods relevant to piping projects.
• Ability to interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Heat Treatment charts, and relevant technical documents.
• Experience with PMI testing, NDT coordination, and weld defect identification.
• Proficient in documenting inspection records, NCRs, and maintaining traceability of weld joints.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills to liaise effectively with welders, QA/QC teams, and project management.

Requirements

• Indian nationality is mandatory.
• Relevant certification or training in welding inspection and quality control.
• Proven experience in a similar role within piping fabrication or construction projects.
• Familiarity with welding codes such as ASME, AWS, or equivalent standards.

Work Environment

This role is based in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, and involves working in industrial and project site environments. Candidates should be prepared to adhere to safety protocols and work long-term on site to support project objectives.
