Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Firefighting Site Engineer to oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of firefighting systems in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will ensure all works comply with NFPA standards, Saudi Building Code (SBC), SEC requirements, and project specifications. This role demands a detail-oriented professional dedicated to safety and quality in all phases of firefighting system deployment.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include managing the installation of fire detection and suppression systems such as fire alarms, sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, fire pumps, and related mechanical piping. The engineer will review IFC, coordination, and shop drawings, identify any discrepancies, and suggest suitable technical solutions to maintain workflow efficiency.

Close collaboration with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and site teams to facilitate inspections and approvals will be vital. You will be responsible for preparing and submitting inspection requests, method statements, inspection test plans, and other relevant site documentation.

Day-to-day monitoring of manpower, work progress, and material needs is essential, along with conducting pressure, hydrostatic, and flow tests, as well as commissioning fire pump rooms. The role also includes integrating firefighting systems with fire alarm interfaces and enforcing strict health, safety, and environmental guidelines throughout the project.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and have between 3 to 7 years’ hands-on experience in firefighting system installation and commissioning. A solid understanding of NFPA standards such as NFPA 72, 13, 14, 20, and 24, along with familiarity with mechanical codes, is necessary.

Experience in Substation and PV projects is considered an advantage. Strong technical knowledge, excellent communication and coordination skills, and the ability to lead site teams and subcontractors effectively are required. Proficiency in MS Office, basic AutoCAD for drawing reviews, and technical reporting is also expected.
