Job Overview

We are searching for a skilled Planning Engineer or Senior Planning Engineer to join our Shutdown & Turnaround team in Jubail. This role supports major maintenance projects within industrial plants, specifically focusing on shutdowns and turnarounds. The successful candidate will bring strong planning, scheduling, and resource management experience, ideally within refinery, petrochemical, power, or other heavy industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities

The role includes developing and managing detailed shutdown and turnaround schedules using Primavera P6. You will collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, construction, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution. Preparing baseline schedules, recovery plans, and progress tracking reports will be vital aspects of your work. Monitoring critical paths, managing manpower allocation, and conducting daily and weekly progress reviews during shutdowns will also be expected. Additional duties include preparing look-ahead plans, conducting productivity analyses, assessing delays, supporting cost control, and ensuring adherence to safety standards and client requirements. Active participation in shutdown planning meetings and on-site coordination will be part of your responsibilities.

Required Skills and Experience

For the Planning Engineer position, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required, along with 5 to 7 years of experience in industrial shutdowns or turnaround projects. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel is essential, as well as experience working in refinery, petrochemical, power, or heavy industrial environments. Strong communication and coordination skills are necessary to effectively manage team interactions.

The Senior Planning Engineer role demands a minimum of 8 years of shutdown and turnaround planning experience. Candidates should demonstrate proven leadership abilities in managing planning activities for major shutdown projects. Advanced expertise in Primavera P6 scheduling and reporting, strong analytical skills, leadership qualities, and experience in stakeholder management are essential for this senior position.
