Job Overview
We are currently looking for a skilled Planning Engineer to join a long-term EPC project based in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. This role focuses on planning and cost control activities vital to ensuring efficient project execution, from subcontractor coordination to budget management and commercial support. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 8 years of experience in engineering disciplines related to Oil & Gas, Power, Infrastructure, or Solar projects.
Key Responsibilities
The Planning Engineer will play a crucial role in various project tasks including:
- Supporting ACE BOQ uploads and segregating costs into appropriate packages
- Assisting with monthly cost bookings, Job Cost Reports (JCR), and updating Estimates to Complete (ETC)
- Helping prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and travel cost plans
- Monitoring actual costs against budgets and reporting to project management
- Participating in subcontractor finalization and management for survey, civil, electrical, and commissioning works
- Drafting subcontract agreements and coordinating approval and mobilization processes
- Reviewing and reconciling subcontractor monthly billing and ensuring timely payments aligned with contracts
- Collaborating with Commercial and Finance teams to resolve billing and payment issues
- Supporting client invoicing by tracking billing milestones and gathering supporting documents
- Coordinating with multiple internal teams to ensure smooth communication and project progress
- Providing onboarding support and process guidance for new team members
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or relevant discipline
- Between 3 to 8 years of proven experience in EPC projects, preferably within Oil & Gas, Power, Infrastructure, or Solar sectors
- Strong understanding of planning, cost control, subcontractor management, and invoicing processes
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Capacity to manage detailed cost tracking and budget monitoring
