Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Quality Control Inspector specializing in static equipment, with current API 510 certification and ARAMCO approval. This pivotal role involves overseeing mechanical inspections, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining high-quality assurance throughout project phases. The position is based in Jafurah and requires immediate availability for deployment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out detailed mechanical inspections and working closely with clients to manage inspection activities. Duties include reviewing Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements (MS), and project specifications specifically related to electrical and mechanical works. The role includes preparing and auditing quality control documents and maintaining records for inspection instruments, ensuring calibration and expiry dates are up to date.

Daily inspection records must be accurately maintained and reported to senior management. The inspector will also review Mechanical Completion (MC) dossiers and coordinate final approvals with the client. Managing the quality documentation handover from subcontractors is an essential part of the role.

Required Skills and Expertise

  • Current API 510 certification is mandatory; familiarity with other related APIs is advantageous.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with static and rotating mechanical equipment including steam turbines, diesel engines, pumps, compressors, motors, and pressure vessels.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable engineering codes and standards such as ASTM, API, IEC, NEMA, UL, FM, NFPA, ASME BPVC (Sections I, V, VIII, IX), ANSI/ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, B73, NACE SPs, and AWS D1.1.
  • Proficiency in mechanical process system inspections, testing procedures, and the effective use of test equipment during fabrication, erection, construction, and pre-commissioning stages.
  • Thorough understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements and ability to apply engineering drawings, specifications, and QC inspection procedures effectively.
  • Capable of independently conducting document reviews, inspections, and testing to verify compliance with contract requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher and have at least five years of experience as a Mechanical Quality Control Inspector in the oil and gas or petrochemical industries. A minimum of three years should be spent working on EPC project sites, preferably within Saudi ARAMCO-approved projects.

Candidates must be familiar with industry standards and operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating expertise in managing quality inspections and documentation across project phases.
