Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with extensive expertise in drilling rig operations to join our team in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. This role involves overseeing the mechanical integrity and maintenance of critical drilling equipment to guarantee smooth and safe operations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, inspecting, and maintaining a variety of mechanical equipment on drilling rigs, including top drives, drawworks, mud pumps, generators, and compressors. Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults promptly to minimize downtime is a vital part of this role. Additionally, the engineer will develop and implement preventive maintenance plans ensuring compliance with company standards and Saudi Aramco’s health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Supervising and mentoring mechanical technicians to enhance team capabilities is expected, alongside maintaining detailed maintenance records, generating technical reports, and offering recommendations to improve operational efficiency. The engineer will also manage spare parts inventory and collaborate on budgeting and cost control. Supporting rig mobilization and demobilization activities along with equipment installation will form part of the duties.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A minimum of five years’ experience working with drilling rig mechanical systems is essential, with at least two years based in Saudi Arabia. Strong understanding of rig equipment and maintenance methodologies is required, complemented by good English communication skills; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.

Applicants should have a valid Saudi Iqama or transferable sponsorship and be capable of working efficiently under pressure and adapting to rotational shifts in remote locations.
