Job Overview

Galaxy Exploring Contracting Company Ltd is urgently seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join their projects department in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. This role requires immediate availability and valid Ajeer or Chamber papers for employment. Reporting directly to the Material Manager and Team Lead, the successful candidate will play an essential role in maintenance, commissioning, and technical support within the petrochemical industry.

Key Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operational efficiency of various petrochemical plant equipment, including turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, columns, tanks, and boilers. Core duties include managing instrumentation and control system maintenance, commissioning, troubleshooting, and control system function checks. The role also involves preparing and reviewing technical documents such as P&IDs, data sheets, and purchase orders, coordinating with manufacturers to ensure complete data availability, and managing Bill of Materials (BOM) using MDRM and SAP systems. Experience in multi-stage turbines, feed pumps, and knowledge of ISO standards such as ISO 14224 and ISO 5500x will be advantageous. Additionally, the engineer will support weekly progress reporting and assist in procurement and inventory accuracy.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Strong expertise in petrochemical plant maintenance, especially instrumentation equipment
• Hands-on experience with instrumentation and control system overhauls
• Capability to perform commissioning, start-ups, and write procedural documentation
• Proficiency in calibration, installation, and maintenance of instrumentation devices including control valves and gas detectors
• Experience with SAP and MDRM for equipment and spare part management
• Sound understanding of safety practices and quality standards
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Flexible, punctual, and able to perform under pressure to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical sectors will be given preference. Familiarity with relevant ISO standards, multi-stage turbines, and feed pumps will be considered a significant advantage.
