Job Overview
We are seeking skilled Estimation Engineers specializing in Civil and Mechanical disciplines to join our team in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. These roles involve preparing accurate cost estimates and comprehensive project planning to support successful bidding and execution within the construction and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
As an Estimation Engineer for either Civil or Mechanical projects, you will be responsible for thoroughly reviewing Invitation to Bid (ITB) documents and preparing or verifying Bills of Quantities (BOQ). Participation in client meetings for project explanations and site visits to assess conditions such as accessibility and utility availability are essential. You will compile detailed reports from site visits and maintain a project synopsis to accompany bid documents.
Interpreting drawings and design plans accurately is crucial for preparing detailed material lists and obtaining current quotations from approved suppliers. You will also manage subcontractor pricing where relevant.
Your role includes preparing comprehensive cost summaries, covering direct and indirect costs including materials, equipment, labor, taxes, insurance, and subcontractor fees. These estimates will be submitted for review and refined based on feedback from the Estimation Manager.
Further duties involve developing proposed execution schedules and material delivery plans tailored to client requirements, often up to level-3 scheduling. You will draft technical proposals aligned with ITB guidelines and maintain records of all estimations for analysis and revisions to ensure precision throughout project development.
Additionally, preparing an organizational chart in line with client needs and assisting in contract handover by briefing project teams are key tasks.
Required Skills and Experience
Candidates for the Civil Estimation Engineer position should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant diploma. For Mechanical Estimation Engineers, 5-8 years of experience in mechanical estimation related to oil and gas, petrochemical, industrial projects, and shutdowns is required.
Both roles require proficiency with project management tools such as Primavera and MS Project, strong knowledge of project estimation and management concepts, familiarity with outsourcing best practices, and competence in MS Office, particularly Excel.
