Job Overview

We are urgently seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in chemical or mechanical engineering to join a major refinery and petrochemical project in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. This long-term position requires a seasoned professional with at least 10 years of hands-on experience in commissioning, with immediate mobilization.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing a range of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities. This includes performing air blowing, water flushing, and steam blowing, as well as conducting tightness tests, refractory dry-out, system drying, and inerting procedures. You will play a critical role in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, process, and control systems to ensure smooth project execution.

Reviewing and interpreting Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to define the commissioning scope accurately is essential. Coordination with vendors and construction teams will be vital to confirm system readiness and maintain alignment with project timelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (higher degrees preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of commissioning experience in refinery or petrochemical environments.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with rotating equipment, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Strong understanding of commissioning processes, including pre-commissioning tasks such as air blowing, flushing, and steam blowing.
• Excellent knowledge of safety protocols and quality standards during commissioning operations.
• Experience working collaboratively with vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
