Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer specializing in Electrical and Instrumentation to oversee testing and commissioning activities for a major Gas Network Project located in Jubail 2, Stage-4 Phase-1. This role involves managing mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, SCADA, and firewater systems to ensure all systems meet stringent Royal Commission standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising comprehensive testing and commissioning tasks, including:
- Commissioning of 24” Fuel Gas (Methane) and 16” Feedstock (Ethane) pipelines.
- Overseeing the 10” FRP firewater network, including hydrants.
- Managing commissioning works for scraper launcher systems, drain tanks, and expansion loops.
- Handling electrical systems such as LV power, UPS, MOVs, lighting, and grounding.
- Implementing instrumentation checks, Emergency Shutdown (ESD), fire and gas detection, leak detection systems, RTU, and SCADA integration.
- Developing and executing commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinating system integration, functional testing, and facilitating safe gas introduction.
- Liaising effectively with Royal Commission representatives, Operations, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) teams.
- Managing punch list clearance, system handover processes, and preparing detailed commissioning documentation.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering is preferred.
- At least 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in testing and commissioning, specifically within gas pipeline or utility projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of international codes, standards, and safety protocols relevant to commissioning activities.
- Prior experience working on Royal Commission, ARAMCO, or comparable large-scale industrial projects is highly desirable.
