Description
An Autoline Duct Machine Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of high-speed, automated production lines used to fabricate HVAC ductwork from metal coils. This role is essential for modern HVAC manufacturing, where precision and high-volume output are critical.
Core Job Responsibilities
• Machine Setup & Operation: Configure and run automated lines that perform functions like decoiling, leveling, beading, punching, and cutting to specific lengths.
• CNC Programming & Control: Input duct dimensions, quantities, and processing parameters (e.g., cut length, notch type) into touch-screen interfaces.
• Material Handling: Load and change heavy metal coils (galvanized steel, aluminum, etc.) using forklifts or overhead cranes, ensuring proper alignment on the feeding frame.
• Quality Control: Conduct periodic checks on finished ducts to ensure they meet strict tolerances (often within ?0.25mm for length) and verify the accuracy of folds and notches.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform operational housekeeping and preventive maintenance, such as lubricating moving parts, checking hydraulic levels, and inspecting cutting blades for wear.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical or software issues—such as material jams or sensor errors—to minimize downtime.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all workplace safety standards, including the use of emergency stops and safety guards, especially when working with sharp metal and heavy machinery.
Technical Skills & Requirements
• Education: Typically requires a high school diploma or GED; vocational training in manufacturing or CNC operation is a plus.
• Experience: Preference for candidates with 2–3 years of related machine operation experience.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Technical Literacy: Proficiency in reading tape measures to 1/16 inch and interpreting operation manuals and technical drawings.
• Ensure all works meet project specifications, QA/QC requirements, and local authority regulations.
• Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and QA/QC inspectors for inspections and approvals.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are used and stored safely.
• Any other reports or tasks as directed by the Management as and when required.
Salary & emoluments: Basic 1500-2300 SAR + FATI & Overtime by Company as per Saudi Laws.
