Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager or Construction Engineer to lead decontamination and demolition operations within a major petrochemical complex located in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. This role plays a crucial part in supporting a strategic industrial program focused on Saudi Arabia’s energy infrastructure. The position demands strong field leadership within a highly regulated environment adhering to stringent Saudi Aramco and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves managing thorough decontamination processes, including flushing, cleaning, and ensuring gas-free certification prior to demolition activities. You will supervise the safe dismantling of equipment, piping, and structural components with close attention to safety and quality. Preparing and executing detailed method statements, risk assessments, and demolition plans is essential. Coordination is required for permits, such as Permit to Work systems (PTW), managing simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), and scheduling shutdown activities to align with project targets. Maintaining strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, including those from SADARA, RC, and global safety protocols, is critical. Monitoring contractor performance, progress tracking, and providing timely reporting while resolving any on-site issues proactively are fundamental aspects of this position.
Required Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Construction Engineering. A minimum of 12 years’ experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industries, particularly in construction and shutdown projects involving decontamination and demolition, is required. Strong expertise in HSE practices combined with proven site leadership skills is essential. Candidates must be prepared for immediate mobilization to the site and demonstrate a proactive, hands-on approach to managing complex tasks in challenging environments.
