Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Manager to lead the development of mobile applications, playing a key role in driving high-quality software delivery for both new and existing apps. This position involves a balance of 60% hands-on app development and 40% leadership of the development team, focused on enhancing the user experience of Bupa’s mobile platforms.

Key Responsibilities

As the lead, you will provide expert technical guidance to your team and address any development challenges by collaborating with technical and group leads. You will coordinate with stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements for a scalable global e-commerce platform, ensuring comprehensive and precise Technical Design Documents are created following Bupa’s architectural standards.

Your responsibilities will also include participating actively in sprint planning and reviews, recommending improvements for system reliability, scalability, and security, and designing innovative solutions to meet evolving customer needs. Developing efficient, testable mobile applications on the OutSystems platform, integrating APIs, plugins, and data from multiple backend sources will be essential to your role.

You will also oversee application support activities, including testing, performance monitoring, error analysis, and proactive issue resolution. Managing the application lifecycle from development through to production, conducting code reviews, and implementing enhancements to meet business requirements will form part of your daily duties.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in C#.Net and OutSystems Service Studio and Integration Studio
• Expertise with OutSystems platform development, administration, and architecture
• Experience with API integrations such as SOAP and REST
• Command of web technologies including JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, and
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and software engineering best practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and capability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Additional Responsibilities

Keeping current with the latest OutSystems innovations and incorporating new components to extend app capabilities is important. You will foster a culture of quality by engaging in team code reviews, sharing best practices, and proposing digital innovations that improve customer experience and streamline processes.

Using OutSystems analytical and monitoring tools, you will measure user satisfaction, audit application performance, identify issues proactively, and generate insightful reports and dashboards. Investigating server response times and deploying new technologies to enhance development efficiency will also be key aspects of your role.
