Job Overview

Amazon is seeking a skilled IT Engineer to join our dynamic team at one of our Fulfilment Centres in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This key role involves managing and supporting IT infrastructure within a fast-paced environment that handles millions of products daily, ensuring seamless global shipping operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, operating, and maintaining robust infrastructure environments with a strong focus on reliability and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

As an IT Engineer, you will own all aspects of IT infrastructure, ensuring systems run smoothly and efficiently. Your duties will include deploying and managing network hardware, collaborating with third-party vendors, and driving continuous improvements. You will play a pivotal role in scaling our fulfilment network by solving complex technical challenges and optimising performance to meet growing customer demands. Additionally, you will contribute to project management tasks and lead technical initiatives with a hands-on approach.

Required Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience in supporting enterprise network hardware, particularly Cisco products.
• Strong expertise in troubleshooting and managing LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
• Proficient with enterprise switches, firewalls, CLI usage, and network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and high availability solutions like HSRP.
• Solid understanding of wireless networking challenges, device roaming, and enterprise wireless environments.
• Knowledge of copper and fiber cabling standards including CAT6, single mode, and multi-mode fiber optics.
• Working experience in Linux system administration, including installations, command line proficiency, and file system management.
• Familiarity with Microsoft back office technologies and an ability to collaborate with teams managing Active Directory, ADFS, and mail systems.
• Demonstrated project management skills and capacity to execute technical tasks effectively.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, especially under pressure with multiple competing priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly present complex technical information to various audiences.
• Experience in customer-facing roles, showing professionalism, discipline, and adaptability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as Cisco CCNA or CCNP, Microsoft MCP or MCSE, Linux LPIC-1 or LPIC-2.
• Experience administering networks in mixed environments combining Microsoft Windows and Linux clients and servers.
• Knowledge of IT asset management and procurement processes.
• Advanced understanding of common network and internet protocols.
• Hands-on experience with Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN / WiFi).
• Proven ability to rapidly learn and apply new technologies.
