Key Responsibilities

The Data Warehouse Manager will act as an Enterprise Data Architect, responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive data model strategy across multiple layers including conceptual, logical, and application-focused designs. Key duties involve setting data governance policies, ensuring data quality and compliance, and planning for data security and disaster recovery efforts. The role also requires leading enterprise application implementations and liaising with external vendors to align technology with corporate goals.

Operationally, the manager will lead and mentor a team of data warehouse developers, establish data management standards, and collaborate with business units to solve complex data challenges. From managing data migrations to designing integration frameworks, the incumbent will help maintain a robust data environment that supports business intelligence and analytics.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 12 years’ experience as a data or information architect, preferably with exposure to the retail sector.
• Proven track record managing data management domains and leading data warehousing teams.
• Expertise in enterprise data modeling, advanced database design (including SQL, Oracle, Snowflake), and ETL/ELT tools such as Microsoft SSIS and Talend.
• Strong understanding of metadata management, data quality frameworks, and data lifecycle planning.
• Experience with web services technologies (SOAP, XML) and object-oriented programming in environments such as Java or .NET.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with executives and operational teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Comprehensive knowledge of data privacy laws and best practices in data security.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field is required. A master’s degree is considered an advantage and will support your capabilities in this strategic role.
