Job Overview

A well-established engineering consulting firm in Jeddah is seeking a skilled Fire Fighting System Designer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing comprehensive fire protection systems across a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with international and local safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves designing and developing complete fire fighting systems, including sprinklers, fire hydrants, foam systems, gas suppression, and fire pumps. You will prepare detailed shop drawings, layouts, schematics, material submittals, and perform hydraulic calculations to verify system efficiency and compliance with codes such as NFPA, SBC, and FM Global.

Collaboration is essential, working closely with architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical teams to integrate fire protection solutions seamlessly. Additionally, you will conduct site surveys and offer technical support during installation and commissioning phases.

Reviewing contractor submissions to ensure alignment with project specifications and regulatory requirements is also a critical part of your responsibilities. Participation in value engineering initiatives will help optimize system design and cost-effectiveness.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of direct experience designing fire fighting systems, preferably within consultancy or contracting environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and specialized fire protection software such as SprinkCAD or Elite.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic calculations and industry standards compliance.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly.
