Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Planning Engineer to join our team, responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring comprehensive project schedules. The role involves creating realistic, detailed plans for multiple projects, tracking progress meticulously, and providing insightful analysis to mitigate scheduling risks effectively.

Key Responsibilities

The Planning Engineer will be involved in:

  • Creating master project programs, baseline schedules, and resource-loaded plans aligned with project requirements.
  • Monitoring project progress in comparison to baseline schedules and preparing consistent schedule updates.
  • Identifying schedule variances, changes to the critical path, and monitoring float consumption to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Generating progress reports, S-curves, and short-interval look-ahead schedules to support transparent project tracking.
  • Collaborating closely with Project and Site teams to obtain precise progress data and future forecasts.
  • Assisting with claims preparation through detailed delay analysis, extension of time (EOT) narratives, and maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Developing and maintaining standardized planning templates and procedures to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Contributing to the tender phase by providing planning input such as construction programs and method statements.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in planning roles within construction projects in Saudi Arabia.
  • Advanced expertise in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project for project scheduling and monitoring.
  • Solid understanding of delay analysis techniques, including Time Impact Analysis (TIA), Impacted As-Planned, and Windows Analysis methodologies.

  • Effective progress monitoring and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in performing comprehensive delay analysis.
  • Ability to collaborate efficiently with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills to prepare clear reports and presentations.
