Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Planning Engineer to join our team and oversee the scheduling and progress tracking of various construction projects in Saudi Arabia. This role involves creating detailed project schedules, monitoring timelines, and providing insightful analysis to help manage risks effectively. The ideal candidate will work closely with project and site teams to ensure project milestones are met on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules and plans. Key duties include:

  • Creating master project programs, baseline schedules, and resource-loaded plans.
  • Tracking project progress against baseline schedules and preparing periodic updates.
  • Identifying any deviations from planned timelines, analyzing critical path changes, and monitoring float usage.
  • Generating progress reports, S-curves, and short-interval look-ahead schedules to assist project monitoring.
  • Collaborating with project and site teams to collect accurate progress data and forecasts.
  • Supporting claims and delay analysis efforts, including preparation of extension of time (EOT) narratives and associated documentation.
  • Designing and maintaining standardized planning templates and procedures.
  • Providing planning input during the tender phase by preparing construction schedules and method statements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least six years of experience in planning roles within construction projects, preferably in Saudi Arabia.
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with delay analysis techniques such as Time Impact Analysis (TIA), Impacted As-Planned, and Windows Analysis.

Additional Competencies

The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong ability to develop detailed schedules, monitor project progress accurately, conduct delay analysis, and prepare technical reports. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential to effectively coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders.
