Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Estimation Engineer to lead our cost estimation efforts, ensuring precise and competitive pricing for project bids and tenders. This role plays an essential part in the commercial success of the company by balancing competitive bidding with margin protection and managing cost-related risks effectively.

Key Responsibilities

The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing comprehensive cost estimates for tenders, proposals, and project budgets. The role involves managing detailed quantity take-offs from drawings across multiple disciplines and interpreting tender documents to identify potential risks while developing economical solutions. The candidate will benchmark unit rates, materials costs, and subcontractor pricing to ensure all bids remain competitive, working closely with Procurement, Technical, and Tendering teams to align on pricing strategies. Additionally, the engineer will prepare ongoing cost plans, budgets, and cost-to-complete analyses for active projects, maintain pricing databases and cost libraries, and present estimates to senior management during bid reviews.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management. Professional certification such as MRICS or an equivalent qualification is considered advantageous. Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in estimating within construction or contracting sectors in Saudi Arabia. Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software such as CostX, Candy, or similar tools along with strong MS Excel skills is essential.
