Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Estimation Engineer to lead the cost estimation processes for our company’s project bids and tenders. This role is pivotal in ensuring our proposals are competitively priced while safeguarding profit margins and managing potential cost risks.

Key Responsibilities

The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for tenders, proposals, and project budgets. This includes managing quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications across various disciplines, analyzing tender documents to identify risks, and devising cost-effective solutions. The role requires benchmarking unit rates, materials, and subcontractor pricing to maintain competitiveness.

Coordination with Procurement, Technical, and Tendering teams is essential to align pricing strategies. Additionally, the Estimation Engineer will prepare cost plans, budgets, and cost-to-complete analyses for ongoing projects. Maintaining the company’s pricing database, cost library, and historical bid records is also a critical part of the position.

Presenting and defending estimates during senior management bid review meetings is expected to ensure full transparency and approval of pricing strategies.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management. Possessing MRICS certification or an equivalent qualification will be considered an advantage. Candidates must have at least 10 years of estimating experience within construction or contracting sectors in Saudi Arabia.

Proficiency in estimating software such as CostX, Candy, or similar tools, along with advanced MS Excel skills, is necessary to efficiently deliver accurate cost assessments.
