Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Design and Structural Coordination Engineer to join our team for a Design & Build project of a factory located in MODON 3, Jeddah. This full-time position requires a professional with strong technical expertise to serve as the main liaison between our organization and the external Structural Design Consultancy. The engineer will play a vital role in coordinating structural design efforts, ensuring cost-effective solutions, and managing submission processes for timely authority approvals.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and streamlining communications and deliverables between the company and the external structural consultant. This includes:

• Acting as the primary point of contact to oversee design coordination and project timelines.
• Conducting value engineering reviews to optimize project costs while ensuring compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and project specifications.
• Managing the preparation and submission of all structural design packages to authorities such as MODON, Civil Defense, and Municipality, and actively tracking the approval process.
• Utilizing AutoCAD and Revit to review and integrate structural drawings with internal MEP and architectural plans, proactively identifying and resolving potential design clashes.
• Reviewing, marking up, and approving structural documentation and material submittals prior to internal release or external submission.
• Providing site support by addressing structural queries, reviewing design modifications for cost implications, and coordinating formal approvals with consultants.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and possess between 8 to 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a client-side, contractor, or project management role within Saudi Arabia. Key qualifications include:

• Proven ability to manage and coordinate external design consultants for industrial projects.
• Strong expertise in value engineering and cost-conscious structural design management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Saudi Building Code and local authority approval procedures, including MODON and Civil Defense requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for design coordination, with added advantage in structural software such as ETABS or STAAD.Pro.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills in English; Arabic language proficiency is highly beneficial for effective authority interaction.
• Possession of a transferable iqama is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing plant projects.
• A background that demonstrates experience in both consulting and contracting environments.
