Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join the Accounts & Finance team in Dubai. This role requires a professional with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in the contracting or construction industry. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and have a strong understanding of accounting principles with practical expertise in handling financial transactions and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely bookkeeping, ensuring all financial records are current. This position entails managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including the processing of subcontractor invoices and timely payment tracking. Monitoring collections and aging reports is essential alongside preparing bank reconciliations and supporting month-end closing activities.

Additionally, the role requires coordination of VAT records and assistance in VAT return submissions to meet regulatory requirements. The Senior Accountant will also oversee project cost accounting, assist in budget monitoring, and prepare management information system (MIS) reports. A crucial part of the job includes liaising with external auditors as required.

Required Skills

• Proficient knowledge of General Ledger management
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Understanding of UAE VAT regulations and compliance procedures
• Strong skills in bank reconciliation processes
• Background in project cost accounting and budget tracking
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with ERP accounting systems

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and possess 5 to 8 years of working experience in accounting roles, ideally within the construction or contracting sectors. Practical knowledge of local VAT rules and experience working in the UAE business environment will be highly advantageous.
