Job Overview

Gulf United FC, a dynamic football club and sports services company based in Dubai, is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. This full-time, on-site position reports directly to the Head of Finance and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the club’s expanding financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will manage essential bookkeeping and financial reporting tasks within Xero, overseeing day-to-day accounting transactions and driving a smooth month-end close process. Your responsibilities include recording sales, receipts, supplier invoices, and payments; preparing payment runs; maintaining accounts receivable and following up on outstanding fees; and performing weekly reconciliations for multiple bank and card accounts. You will also maintain fixed asset registers, prepayments, and accrual schedules, and support various queries from internal departments, suppliers, and customers.

During month-end close, you will assist with closing checklists, post necessary journals such as accruals and depreciation, and help prepare management accounts with insightful departmental variance commentary. Additionally, you will support the annual audit and year-end financial close.

Your duties will extend to payroll processing and submission via WPS, posting payroll journals with departmental allocations, and assisting with Corporate Tax compliance and other regulatory filings.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or CMA preferred. You should bring 6 to 8 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years of managing month-end closures. Experience working in the UAE with VAT, WPS payroll, and Corporate Tax regulations is essential.

Strong Excel skills are required to manage complex reconciliations and perform data cleanups efficiently. You must demonstrate high attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple deadlines independently. Candidates must currently reside in the UAE.
