Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Accountant based in Dubai, UAE, to handle and streamline the accounts payable process for our organization. This role demands accuracy, financial diligence, and excellent communication skills to ensure efficient payment processing and strong vendor relationships within a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will manage end-to-end accounts payable operations which include verifying and processing supplier invoices while ensuring all necessary documentation is complete. The role requires daily interaction with suppliers to confirm invoice receipt and status of payments, resolving discrepancies such as pricing, documentation gaps, or tax-related issues. Coordination with internal departments such as Procurement, Operations, Receiving, and Finance is essential to tackle payment-related concerns promptly.

Additional duties involve reconciling supplier statements, investigating outstanding balances, maintaining accurate vendor account records and ledger balances, preparing payment requests for management approval, and sending payment confirmations or remittance advice once payments are completed. Supporting month-end closing activities, audits, and financial reporting processes will also be part of the role to ensure timely and precise settlement of supplier liabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree or recognized professional accounting certifications are considered advantageous.
• Proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting tools.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• A minimum of three years of relevant experience in accounting or a related area.
• Demonstrated knowledge of auditing principles and UAE tax regulations.
• Experience within marine or energy sectors will be viewed favorably.
