Job Overview
FMS Malaga General Contracting Co. Ltd., part of the Malaga Group based in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager / Engineer. This role involves overseeing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing engineering activities, combined with project estimation, budgeting, tender preparation, and on-site support to ensure projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will take charge of engineering and site coordination as well as estimation and tendering processes. This includes reviewing MEP drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents to ensure compliance with standards. Supervising HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV works, coordinating with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, and managing site inspections, testing, and commissioning will be critical tasks.
Additionally, the role requires preparing shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and all necessary technical documentation. The Project Manager will monitor progress closely to address any technical issues or coordination challenges promptly.
On the estimation and tendering side, responsibilities include detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates, BOQs, and pricing for MEP scopes. Evaluating RFQs, obtaining supplier quotations, and preparing both technical and commercial proposals will support value engineering and cost optimization efforts. Maintaining pricing databases and assisting management in budgeting and profitability analysis are also part of this role.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Between 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in MEP engineering and estimation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, MS Office, and relevant estimation software.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, enabling effective collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Saudi Arabian standards including SBC, SEC, and Civil Defense regulations.
- Strong analytical capabilities and negotiation skills.
- Experience in project coordination and resolving on-site issues.
- Understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes is an advantage.
