Job Overview

Abdullah Al-Baraq is seeking a skilled Cost Controller / Cost Engineer to join their team in Saudi Arabia on a one-year renewable contract. This opportunity requires candidates with at least five years of experience in cost control, budgeting, and cost monitoring specifically for shutdowns and turnarounds. A transferable Iqama is mandatory for this role.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control during shutdown projects, including:

• Preparing detailed shutdown budgets using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) methodologies.
• Estimating costs related to labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Monitoring and tracking actual expenses throughout the shutdown to ensure adherence to budget limits.
• Conducting variance analysis to identify differences between planned and actual costs and recommending corrective measures to stay within budget.
• Managing change orders, cost variations, and subcontractor claims to ensure all commercial changes are reviewed and approved properly.
• Generating daily and weekly cost control reports, cash flow forecasts, and final shutdown cost documentation.
• Reviewing supplier and subcontractor invoices, verifying payment certificates, and ensuring the accuracy of billing.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Finance. A strong understanding of shutdown cost management and reporting is essential. Proven experience in controlling costs for shutdowns or turnaround projects is highly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a basic salary of SAR 10,000 along with full FAT benefits, including food, accommodation, and transportation. This comprehensive benefits package supports a comfortable living arrangement during the contract period.
