Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer for a full-time, office-based role in the Dammam region. The successful candidate will take charge of creating and developing electrical designs, technical drawings, and calculations that align with project requirements, regulatory standards, and client expectations. This position offers the chance to work within a dynamic team environment focused on engineering excellence in the Saudi construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for producing comprehensive electrical layouts covering power, lighting, low current/ELV systems, grounding, and lightning protection. Tasks include performing load calculations, generating single-line diagrams, preparing material take-offs, and reviewing technical specifications. Additionally, you will prepare detailed technical submittals, assist with procurement processes by developing BOQs and selecting materials, and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated design solutions.

Day-to-day duties involve revising designs based on client and consultant inputs, offering technical support during the construction phase, addressing requests for information (RFIs), and ensuring all electrical systems comply with applicable safety codes and approved standards. Participation in design coordination meetings, value engineering sessions, and quality assurance reviews is an integral part of delivering timely and cost-effective engineering outcomes.

Requirements and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7-9 years of experience in electrical design engineering.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and systems.
• Hands-on expertise in electrical drawings, load calculations, and documentation.
• Familiarity with electrical codes and standards such as IEC, SBC, NEC, or equivalents.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, ETAP, or similar design software.
• Experience with BOQs, material submittals, and technical reporting.
• Ability to support construction teams with design clarifications, RFI responses, and shop drawing reviews.
• Excellent coordination skills to work alongside architectural, structural, and mechanical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities under tight deadlines.
• Saudi Council of Engineers registration is mandatory.
• Previous experience with construction or prefabricated/modular building projects is highly desirable.
