Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Civil Estimation Engineer / Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience preparing precise cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and competitive quotations for construction projects. Familiarity with local construction standards, market pricing, and VAT regulations is essential to succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves preparing detailed cost estimates and comprehensive project quotations that align with project requirements and budgets. The candidate will be responsible for preparing BOQs by carefully reviewing drawings and specifications and performing accurate quantity take-offs for civil works. A thorough study of tender documents and scope of work is required to ensure all aspects are covered.

Maintaining and regularly updating the database of materials and labor costs based on the Saudi Arabian market conditions will be crucial. Coordination with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the latest pricing information forms a core part of the job. Additionally, the engineer will assist in tender submissions and support commercial evaluations during the bidding process.

Compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and project-specific specifications must be ensured. Accurate inclusion of VAT (15%) and relevant overhead costs in all estimates is necessary. The role also involves supporting cost control measures and budget monitoring throughout project execution.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Applicants should hold a Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering and bring 3 to 7 years of experience in estimation or quantity surveying, specifically within Saudi Arabia. A strong understanding of local material rates, labor costs, and supplier networks is required to deliver competitive and realistic estimates.

Proficiency in MS Excel is essential, while familiarity with AutoCAD software will be beneficial. Experience managing tender processes and conducting commercial evaluations is highly valued. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently, meet demanding deadlines, and communicate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to those with experience in residential, commercial, and fit-out construction projects. Knowledge of the Saudi Building Code and its application to estimation practices is a distinct advantage. Analytical problem-solving skills and strong communication abilities enhance candidate suitability.
